Sauna Village
"Old Hintertux" Sauna Village
These saunas may well be unique in the Alps - made from centuries-old timber with great attention to detail, embedded in the most modern and hygienic sauna technology.
A little introduction to the past and the philosophy of the "Old Hintertux" sauna village:
We took our cue from the old Hintertux from the turn of the 20th century, with its weather-marked mountain farms, the school, and the small Hintertux chapel, to create a symbolic sauna village. In doing so, we used the house names of established families in Hintertux as names for our saunas. The past 50 years have seen a lot of change, and so the mountain farms have become tourism-related businesses that kept the old names. This is the case with the Hohenhaus, Nenner (now "Sport Nenner"), the Hotel Kössler, Willeiter, and Jörgler.
The house name "Hesser" is different. It remains the common name for the Klausner family. Correspondingly, the hotel is called "Hotel Klausnerhof".
The windows in the recreated chapel are original windows of the church in St. Margarethen. For safety reasons as well as for insulation, these 300-year-old leaded windows use insulating glass.
